Gratitude - 5 31 09

Today I am thankful..

  • that I have another year to show up in this game of life
  • that I had a wonderful birthday weekend with my family
  • for the friends who sent me their birthday wishes for me
  • that it's literally raining blessings on my birthday
  • that I received a very special gift from a friend
  • that I I bumped into a friend I've never seen for almost 10 years during mass
  • that I seem to be showered with God's birthday blessings starting with a concert from the Singles for Christ Choir
  • that I started my birthday right
  • that I was able to contribute to work during my first week
  • that I am going to be faced with bigger challenges at work this coming week and I know I can make it with God's grace
  • for miracles
  • for the safe journey of Alyanna and Chloe
  • for the peace and serenity of feeling truly I am where I need to be, doing what I chose to do this lifetime
  • that I fell asleep last night with a smile on my face and in my heart
  • that when I am able to pay attention there are plenty of things to learn, every day
And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. - Abraham Lincoln

Gratitude - 5 19 09

Today I am thankful..

  • that I am physically fit to work and that I am to start work next week
  • for my hairstylist who gave me a fresh look
  • that I have a dear friend who are willing to help me cope with my financial condition
  • for the opportunity to start anew, make new friends, and make a difference
  • to be one among many and to feel right at home
  • for having a dog attitude. Dogs have to be the happiest creatures God ever made.
  • for my room full of laughter and tears, growth and prayers
  • for miracles
I am not bound or limited by anything that was ever done or said to me. I face the day with self-confidence and a sense of expectancy, knowing that I am really a fortunate person with many reasons to be grateful. ~Walk in Dry Places'

Gratitude - 5 11 09

Today I am thankful..

  • that after the long wait...I finally got the job I've been praying for
  • that I have realized that letting go is one step in acknowledging new beginnings
  • that I have learned that prayer goes hand in hand with faith
  • that I have proven that God has a grand plan for me
  • for learning the value of waiting
  • that I am destined for bigger things than sending out emails
  • for friends who listened and prayed for me
I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.- G.K. Chesterton

Today I am thankful..

  • for a restful sleep. I've never had one for a long time.
  • for the leftover chocolate cake.

  • that I didn't feel lonely at all being home alone.
  • for that giddy, happy feeling
  • that I have new books to read.

On bills

Here are the bills again.
I always dread them a little.
They are familiar presences;
first in the mail box, then in the bill drawer,
now on the desk. Services rendered.
My life depends on services rendered.

I am staring at the bills are piling up on top of my desk desk. Untouched, unopened. I think I'm going to have palpitations. Paying bills is becoming a painful issue, releasing toxic emotions keeping me locked in lack.

I know I need to release myself from feeling that I don't have enough. Help is on its way, I know and I can feel it coming. So now I retrieve memories when I pay bills with ease, recall positive feelings of plenty. I smile. Now, it isn't painful anymore to open an envelope...

Let me not skip into this monthly knowing,
Instruct me in judicious spending and in gratitude with no holds barred.
